it’s been too long since i last updated this blog, and sadly it’s not for the happiest of reasons.

it was brought to our attention that there is someone out there selling amateur wigs under the guise that they were created by [a]narchy. i can’t stress enough how much this upsets us.

we take pride in the hard work that we do, and every single wig, hairpiece, and extension client that we take is going to get something worthy of the [a]narchy brand name. we have taken commissions for hairpieces and wigs for overseas clients, but if any of our supporters see someone selling anything under the [a]narchy name on the internet, we ask that you notify us in advance by contacting us at info@anarchyinthejp.com to verify the authenticity of any wigs and/or hairpieces. if you spot a fake, please report it to us, because it’s both fraudulant and copyright infringement, which we take very seriously.

the only definite way to guarantee the quality and authenticity of anything we make at [a]narchy is to have it made by us, or to purchase our work from an approved shop that stocks our hairpieces. we encourage our supporters to be creative and try their hand at making their own hair creations, as that’s the spirit [a]narchy has always embraced, but from a legal, aesthetic, and moral standpoint, fakes are something that we not only frown upon, but want no association with our name whatsoever.

can you see the massive difference in quality? we hope so. bubblewrap dreadlocks and their technique were created by pepi’s, and the only salons who have perfected that technique are pepi’s and [a]narchy. this technique is often imitated, but it only takes a quick glance to know which is the original. if it doesn’t look like it was made by [a]narchy, it means it wasn’t made by [a]narchy.

if anyone comes across an ‘[a]narchy’ or ‘anarchy in the jp’ wig or hairpiece online, whether via private sale or auction site, contact us directly before making any commitments to purchase, because it’s not only illegal, but it hurts the level of quality associated with our name if it’s a forgery. the materials we use range from plastic pioneered and used by pepi’s to basic materials that anyone can get their hands on, but just because it’s a certain material does not mean we made it. be cautious when making any purchases over the internet, and remember that the best way to guarantee the quality and style of [a]narchy is to commission us to create something for you.

ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS. report any suspicious sales to us, and stick to the following guide if you see our work on the internet for sale VIA [a]narchy:

- ALL [a]narchy wigs and hairpieces available from us online will be watermarked with our logo [see examples of our work above]
- if sold on livejournal, items will be posted using kaytea’s LJ handle, kayteanese
- if sold on mixi, items will be posted in the [a]narchy community or using kaytea’s mixi handle, anarchyinthejp
- all pieces listed on the [a]narchy official blog/site are guaranteed authentic
- all e-mail correspondance will be via our official e-mail, info@anarchyinthejp.com

IF A SALE SEEMS SUSPICIOUS, NOTIFY US AT ONCE. there are all sorts of people on the net, but we want to keep the fakes at bay and guarantee that no one gets shafted out of money for work that is of inferior quality.

so we can better provide you with a quick response regarding available materials and colours for custom orders, here is a list of available materials/colours. please read through this list before contacting us about your custom order, as depending on the material base you want to work with, there are many cases where colours are limited or take time for us to obtain before we can begin making your order. :) PLEASE NOTE that we do not sell our materials, this is simply a guide to help clients know what we have available before ordering. colours/materials in stock are also subject to change, so keep that in mind when ordering (more…)

wig/hairpiece inform[a]tion for overseas orders

we get a lot of e-mails asking about our wigs and hairpieces, with a lot of e-mails asking the same questions about pricing, so i thought it would make things easier for everyone if i made a more concise guideline list here.

wigs

- many people contact us asking for exact copies of various wigs that we have made in the past. PLEASE NOTE that we will not do any exact reproductions of any hair that we have made previously, out of respect for the clients who came up with the ideas with us, and also because it takes away the fun of our job. if there’s a specific wig/hairpiece you like, but want to change the colours up or add different materials, we are happy to do so.
pricing

- each of our wigs is made the same way that extensions are made on actual clients, plus they have the bonus of never ‘growing out’ and being wearable again and again. while our prices may seem high upon first glance, the quality and time spent makes it well worth it, and our wigs [with proper care] will last much longer than amateur attempts would. we stand by the quality of our work.
- to get a rough idea of what a wig will cost, add the cost of the quantity and type of extensions [see our pricelist for details] to a base fee of ¥10,000. this base fee covers the high-quality base wig we will use, and also includes the fee for styling/cut. [for example: if you want a wig with 1/2 head of plastic extensions on it, add ¥10,000 to the ¥45,000 cost of the plastic, for a total of ¥55,000.]
- hairpieces depend on what sort of materials you want, as well as the overall size, but generally hairpieces can be made for ¥8,000~¥20,000.
- if you have difficulty figuring out the price, or have a specific budget you want to work with, contact us and we will tell you what we can do for the cost you are willing to pay. having a picture or image you like the look of helps a lot, so please feel free to send us whatever inspires you!

deposit required for all wig/hairpiece orders

- to guarantee that all orders are from 100% committed clients, we require 50% of the total wig/hairpiece cost up front as a deposit. this deposit is non-refundable. we will send you an invoice via paypal, which will contain a receipt for your order. buyers are responsible for additional paypal fees as well.
- once your deposit has been paid and confirmed, we will begin working on your hairpiece or wig. once finished, we ask for the remaining 50%, plus shipping fees to wherever you are located.

time required to make wigs/hairpieces

- time required to make your order may vary depending on how busy our shop is, and also on how much additional prep time is needed for the material in question. some materials [ie bubblewrap, pom-poms, etc.] require extra time to prepare the materials, but most wigs can be completed within 1 week, and hairpieces may take up to 3 days. if you need something made fast, tell us so when you place your order, and we will do our best to match your deadline.

shipping

- all orders are shipped via EMS, which is both fast and reasonable. there is a small possibility that customs may tack on extra charges to your order, which we will not be held responsible for.

exchange/refunds

- all custom wig and hairpiece orders are non-refundable/non-exchangable. if any part of your wig/hairpiece comes apart, we will happily repair it for you free of charge, but the buyer is responsible for all shipping fees.

it has been far too long since i last updated this blog…my happy new year message is coming on january 26th?! i’m awful, please forgive me… T_T

we hope that you’ve all had a great new year, and that 2009 will bring more exciting things everyone’s way! we hope we have the opportunity to meet some more interesting people from all over the world, whether through hair or out and about…so if any of you are planning on visiting japan, drop us a line! we’d love to meet more like-minded people!
my first creation of 2009 was kazu’s ‘eco punk’ hair…and yes, those are artificial leaves!!

the fun thing about doing extensions like this is that it doesn’t have to be something new and amazing…it can be made using some creative ideas and materials lying around the house! back when kazu was at pepi’s, the fundamental basic that started everything up was that amazing hair could be made from anything, whether recycled pieces picked up somewhere, or using materials you can pick up at a craft shop…the possibilities are endless!

but in all seriousness, we are trying our best to do our part to help the environment. it has been so hot every summer these last few years, it’s miserable to have any extensions at all!! so for everyone who wants to freedom to have crazy hair year-round, do your part and make this global warming shit a thing of the past!

エクステの楽しいところは、出来ること＆使える素材が沢山あるので、どんなステキな頭でも作れるはずです！kazu君が以前pepi’sで働いてた頃にも、使う素材は拾ってきたゴミからぉ店で買えるクラフト用品まで、色々な素材と使ってきたので、皆さん是非面白いものを作ってみましょう！♪

hello, and happy late thanksgiving to everyone overseas!!

i haven’t been keeping this blog up as much as i would like to, and would like to apologise to anyone who has been checking it to find nothing new posted here! (>_<) if any of you are on mixi, you can see a lot more of our new creations by adding us! [our profile is here]

it’s been so cold in tokyo these last few days! after a long, hot summer, we had one month of autumn only to warp into sub-zero-esque weather. (@.@) i’m wishing i had a warmer coat! XD

winter is a great season to try styles using warmer extensions like wool…they’re fluffy, warm, and can be used as a pillow should the feeling arise (^_~) we did some great wool extensions the other day, so i wanted to post the photos here!

hello hello, we’re just about to spring into motion, creating [a]narchy’s new collection of wigs and hairpieces for autumn/winter 2008. however, this time, we want to add a twist…we want to create something new and interesting with YOU!
this isn’t about stealing ideas, it’s about taking an idea that you come up with, and using our skills, making it into a reality. think it can’t be done? challenge us. :) we are grateful to all of our supporters, so the best collaboration we could make would be with the people who wish for it…so we’re looking for interesting colour combinations, materials, shapes…anything that you’ve always thought, ‘i wish they had THIS!’ but have never seen? with your contribution, it can be a reality.

of designs submitted, three will be chosen to be created and included in [a]narchy’s new collection, and along with your submitted image, a title of your choosing and your name as an special collaborating designer! and for ONE lucky person, your design will not only be created, it will be given to you as a present from us. so hopefully that’s motivation enough to get your creative ideas in motion, and to get to designing!!

そろそろ[a]narchyのヘアピース＆ウィッグの新コレクションの作業が始まるんですが、今回は今までと違うツイストが入ります：

今回は[a]narchyを応援して頂いている皆さんと一緒に何かを作りたいと思っています♪ 今まで注文に合わせて作ったり、自分のアイデアを作ったりしてきましたが、大切なのは皆さんが「これがあれば良い！！」と思うような作品なので、貴方の頭の中にある「絵」を実現してみたいです！「人のアイデアをパクる」ではなく、「人のアイデアに私達の技術を合わせて一緒に新しいものを作る」プロジェクトです☆ 同じ物を見てもその角度が皆それぞれ違うので、言葉じゃ伝わらないイメージでも[a]narchyと一緒に作るチャンスです！

絵に自信ない方でも構いません！！自分の形・素材・雰囲気・スタイル・色合わせが伝わるならOKです！！

to anyone and everyone who has been frothing at the mouth, hating us for making our hairpieces and t-shirts more than the usual one click away from being yours, the wait is finally over!

[a]narchy has joined the 21st century, and added easy-to-use paypal payment buttons, so you don’t have to go through the tedious ordeal that is playing tag with us via e-mail, with a time difference no less. :P we apologise for the delay, but now e-mails and waiting for invoices for items available via our blog-turned-shop are a thing of the past!

…sorry, i’m quite proud of myself. most of you probably don’t understand why…but i used to work with dos prompts and only recently became savvy with the world of internet shopping. so yay for me.
